Already 31% more: What is happening with electricity tariffs in Germany.

In Germany, utility tariffs have significantly increased compared to last year. The average German family now spends 31% more on electricity, 61% more on heating, and overall electricity expenses have risen by 17%. The expenses amounted to 5407 euros per year, which is a substantial increase compared to last year when this amount was 4121 euros.
'This is what happens when government policy is directed completely in the opposite direction from the citizens of the country,' comments the energy expert.
The expert criticizes the current government of Ukraine for its unwillingness to change policies in the utility sector. He claims that the government does not adhere to the legacies of previous governments, but changes must come and citizens will force the government to implement the necessary changes.
'So it will not be them who change, but we will change them. And we will drive them out with dirty rags, hopefully this autumn from the power cabinets,' sums up the expert.
Utility tariffs in Ukraine remain stable at the beginning of 2025. For 12 million households, the gas price remains fixed at 7.96 UAH per cubic meter until the end of April 2025. The electricity tariff for the population is 0.117 euros per kilowatt-hour, and for electric heating, it is 0.071 euros. However, experts predict a possible increase in electricity tariffs from June 1, 2025.
An analysis by the National Bank of Ukraine shows that throughout 2025, gas tariffs and heating and hot water supply services will remain unchanged. It is worth noting that overall utility rates already increased by 20% in 2024, indicating a general trend of rising service costs.
