Wood export from Ukraine increased by 13%: the most popular types of raw materials.

In the first months of this year, Ukraine exported 1.42 million tons of wood and wood products abroad, worth 671.8 million dollars. According to the State Customs Service, the export volume increased compared to the previous year by 6% or 81.7 thousand tons, while the monetary equivalent grew by 13% or 77.9 million dollars.
The most popular type of wood for export
The most popular type of wood for export is pine, which accounts for 68.6%. This indicates a high demand for this material in international markets. Exported forest materials also include spruce (19%) and oak (6.6%).
Since the beginning of the year, customs services have uncovered violations worth over 31.4 million hryvnias. Just at the beginning of May, in cooperation with the State Forest Agency, a scheme was revealed for the illegal export of 2.9 thousand m3 of timber worth 13.6 million UAH. In all 98 cases, business entities from one region attempted to export timber using fake certificates. Protocols have been drawn up against all entrepreneurs who violated customs regulations.
Additionally, since the start of the conflict, part of the confiscated timber materials has been used for the needs of Ukraine's defenders, amounting to 14.2 million UAH.
Ukraine has increased the volume of timber exports this year compared to the previous one. Pine remains the most popular type of wood among export goods. However, some business entities attempted to export timber illegally, which was discovered by customs authorities.
Ukraine continues to increase timber export volumes, particularly of pine, but the problem of illegal timber export remains relevant, with customs services continuing to combat this phenomenon, uncovering violations and drawing up protocols against offenders.
