The U.S. Position on Ukraine Will Signal to Beijing - Media.

Ukraine Faces Challenges from Totalitarian States
For Donald Trump, the biggest challenge will be addressing the issue of the new axis of totalitarian states such as China, North Korea, Russia, Iran, Myanmar, and others. China is the greatest threat to the free world since the Cold War.
Currently, China is actively building its army and navy, which poses a direct threat to the United States. China is also trying to take control over disputed strategic territories in the South China Sea and threatens to invade Taiwan. This is particularly dangerous, British politician Ian Duncan Smith says in his article for The Telegraph, referring to ZN.UA.
Smith notes that China is an important partner for Russia, and both countries are watching the withdrawal of Western troops from Afghanistan. They conclude that the West lacks leadership and determination to hold the line and stay true to its goals. It is the West's failure that led to Putin's invasion of Ukraine.
'The harsh reality is that many European countries ignored these signals and reduced their defense capability, focusing on internal problems,' writes Duncan Smith.
While Trump has positive plans for a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Putin and President Zelensky, Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher emphasized that lessons from World War II show that peace without justice will never be sustainable. Ukraine deserves more than a short-term settlement where Putin is rewarded for his cruelty, adds the politician.
'I hope President Trump understands that Ukraine finds itself in a difficult position due to the weak leadership of the West and its orientation towards Russia and China,' concludes Duncan Smith.
