Residential construction in Ukraine increased by 12% over the year.

In the first quarter of 2025, 28,432 new apartments were built and put into operation in Ukraine, which is 3,000 more than last year. This information was provided by LUN based on state statistics.

Almost a third of this new housing consists of private houses. In total, 8,462 single-family houses and 19,970 apartments in multi-family buildings were put into operation in the first quarter.

Compared to last year, it turns out that in 2024, out of 25,479 new housing units, 17,385 were in multi-family buildings and 8,094 were in single-family homes.

In the first quarter of 2025, 2.29 million square meters of new housing appeared in Ukraine, of which most are in private houses. The average area of private houses is 136 sq. m, while apartments and townhouses average 56.5 sq. m.

The most new apartments were built in the Kyiv region, excluding the capital. The second place in terms of construction volume is occupied by Kyiv developers. The third and fourth places were taken by Odesa and Lviv regions, respectively.

Although some regions have a decrease in housing construction volumes, overall, the first quarter of 2025 turned out to be more productive than a year ago. There is hope for further growth in construction rates in the coming periods of this year and in the future.

Data from LUN and the State Statistics Service show that residential construction in Ukraine is actively developing, increasing the volume of new housing compared to the previous year. Despite some differences among regions, overall, the residential construction sector shows positive dynamics that may contribute to improving living conditions for Ukrainians in the future.
