U.S. President Donald Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff stated that Ukraine is willing to hold elections despite the conflict with Russia and the non-recognition of Zelensky's government by the Russians. Witkoff confirmed this information in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, reports 'Khvylia'.
According to Witkoff, Zelensky is in a difficult situation due to the confrontation with Russia, a country with a larger population and nuclear weapons. He is trying to do everything possible and must understand that he can be crushed.
Yes, they have agreed. Elections will take place in Ukraine. And I agree with this,' said Witkoff.
Witkoff considers the strategy for Zelensky as the best possible deal with President Trump. Previously, the U.S. President mentioned a possible date for a ceasefire in Ukraine.
