Meeting of Zelensky and Scholz in Kyiv
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz had an important meeting in Kyiv. They visited the memorial to fallen soldiers and inspected the latest drone systems.
The leaders of the two countries began their program by honoring the memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine. They held this ceremony at the People's Memorial in Maidan Nezalezhnosti.
During the visit to the injured soldiers, Zelensky and Scholz talked to the defenders who were wounded in various territories of Ukraine. For their service and defense of Ukraine, the President of Ukraine awarded 'For Courage' III class orders to servicemen of the National Guard, National Police, and State Border Guard Service. He expressed gratitude and pride for these heroes, urging them to recover and take care of themselves.
Ukrainian defenders also thanked the Chancellor for the assistance, especially for air defense systems. Chancellor Olaf Scholz wished the soldiers a speedy recovery.
The President also honored the medics, awarding them 'For Merit' III class orders and 'For Saved Life' medals. He thanked them for their important work in saving the lives of soldiers.
The final part of the visit was the inspection of the latest drone systems. The leaders were shown various types of drones, robotic complexes, and the 'drone swarm' control system. Special attention was given to joint Ukrainian-German developments, particularly drones with automatic target acquisition systems powered by artificial intelligence. The products of a German company with its production center in Ukraine were also presented.
