Russian officer is in critical condition after the explosion in Ivanovo region
Intelligence has learned that Captain Konstantin Nahayko, an officer of the Armed Forces of Russia, is in critical condition following an explosion that occurred on January 3, 2025, in the village of Shuya in Ivanovo region. The captain is the commander of the battery of the 112th missile brigade of the 1st tank army of the Western Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.
According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the officer sustained severe internal organ and brain injuries as a result of the explosion. Doctors performed a trepanation of the skull to stop the bleeding and increase his chances of survival.
Captain Nahayko, a graduate of the St. Petersburg University of Aerospace Instrumentation and the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy, directly participated in the war against Ukraine and led a unit that carried out strikes with Iskander ballistic missiles in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
In particular, on October 5, 2023, a cafe in the village of Groza in the Kupiansk district was subjected to shelling during a memorial ceremony. As a result of the explosion, 59 civilians were killed, including an eight-year-old child. According to the HUR of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the officer is in critical condition, and his chances of survival are minimal.
