A register of prohibited software will appear in Ukraine.

The State Special Communications Service is preparing to create a register of prohibited software
The State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine is completing the development of a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers on the creation and use of a register of prohibited software. This was announced by the director of the Department of State Control in the field of information protection and security audit of the State Special Communications Service, Igor Stelnick.
It was noted that not all users have switched to domestic or foreign software due to the development of Russian websites and software products. The recently adopted law, which obligated government agencies to use only software not included in the register of prohibited software, addresses this issue.
According to the director of the department of state control in the field of information protection and security audit of the State Special Communications Service, Igor Stelnick, the issue of hostile software in Ukraine is 'very painful'.
Igor Stelnick stated that a draft resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers is currently being prepared, which will regulate the creation and use of the register of prohibited software. For the inclusion of software in the register, he emphasized the necessity of involving the professional community in the process of selecting criteria.
At the EU-Ukraine Defense Industry Forum, an understanding regarding cooperation in the field of defense industry between Ukraine and the European Association of Aerospace, Security, and Defense Industries has been signed.
The development of the register of prohibited software is important for enhancing cybersecurity in Ukraine and ensuring that malicious software is not used in state structures. Competent implementation of this mechanism will help avoid potential threats to cybersecurity and ensure transparency in the use of software.
