Prices for a popular vegetable have fallen in Ukraine: what is the new price tag.

Prices for summer vegetables are rapidly decreasing in Ukraine, analysts from the EastFruit project report.
Many people wait for summer to not only buy vegetables in stores and markets but also grow them in their own garden. This week, prices for greenhouse tomatoes in Ukraine decreased to 20-40 UAH/kg ($0,49-0.97/kg), which is on average 22% cheaper than at the end of last week.
Note that the reason for the price drop in tomatoes was the stabilization of the weather in many regions. This allowed for the resumption of the ground tomato harvesting campaign and growing it in almost all regions of the country.
However, low-quality indicators and low demand continue to keep greenhouse tomato prices at a low level. Hot and dry weather negatively affects plants, fruits get sunburned and crack, reducing their attractiveness to buyers. Despite the price drop, greenhouse tomatoes are now offered for sale on average 25% more expensive than a year ago due to an overall decrease in production.
It is also worth noting that Auchan, Metro, and Varus supermarkets changed prices for sunflower oil and eggs in August.
