Ukraine invited EU leaders to Kyiv on May 9, - Politico.

The government of President Volodymyr Zelensky has invited high-ranking officials from the European Union to visit Kyiv on May 9 to demonstrate diplomatic unity against Vladimir Putin's annual military parade in Moscow, which will take place on the same day.
The Ukrainian government has invited EU representatives to visit Kyiv on May 9 to show unity against Putin's military parade in Moscow, which will also take place that day.
Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha conveyed the invitation to his EU colleagues, urging them to 'demonstrate our unity and determination in the face of the greatest aggression in Europe since World War II.'
In light of ongoing conflicts with Russia, Ukraine is trying to divert attention from the military parade in Moscow, especially due to Russian aggression and the US's attempts to organize a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
Zelensky would be interested in meeting with the leaders of the 'coalition of the willing' to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine following a potential ceasefire with Russia. However, the US is not part of this coalition.
While the exact location of the meeting is unknown, the possibility of state leaders visiting Ukraine in early May is being considered, including future German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as reported by EU diplomats who wished to remain anonymous.
It is worth noting that Putin has invited leaders from several countries, including Israel, China, Brazil, Slovakia, and Serbia, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, but did not invite the US and the majority of EU member states.
While US and French leaders once attended the military parade in Moscow in 2005, no Western leader has attended this event in recent years.
It is also important to mention that Russia continues to attack Ukraine, and even the latest attack in central Sumy resulted in the death of 34 people and injured over 170.
Trump responded to this attack, calling it 'horrific,' but refrained from criticizing Russia.
