The Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval, visited Syria, where he met with the Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Mohamed Al Ahmad.
'A very constructive meeting with my colleague from Syria. We discussed a list of products that this country needs. First of all, Syria is interested in livestock products - meat and dairy products. Also wheat, barley, oil, sugar, and flour. The Assad regime has imposed high tariffs on the import of products to Syria to control this process and profit from it,' said Vitaliy Koval.
To lift tariffs on Ukrainian products and food, Vitaliy Koval announced the creation of a joint working group, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine and the Ministries of Economy and Trade and Agriculture of Syria.
