Ukraine continues to build a decentralized energy system - Galushchenko.

The Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko emphasized the importance of building a resilient, decentralized, and sustainable energy system to achieve energy independence and strengthen Ukraine's energy security.
During the event in London, organized by the International Energy Agency and the Government of the United Kingdom, Galushchenko noted that the Ukrainian energy system has withstood a third winter under the threat of war with Russia thanks to technical solutions and the experience of our energy specialists.
The Minister stressed that on-site energy generation has become one of the ways to ensure the stability of the energy system.
He also noted that plans have already been developed in Ukraine to ensure the energy resilience of regions, allowing risk assessment, identification of locations for energy facilities, and network planning. This streamlines collaboration with local energy specialists and facilitates adaptation to a unified and autonomous energy supply system.
'Decentralized generation - whether from renewable energy sources or gas installations - complicates the task for Russia of preserving energy security. This makes energy supply less vulnerable in case of military threats and the use of drones and missiles,' said the Minister of Energy.
Galushchenko also expressed gratitude to the International Energy Agency for reports and recommendations that will contribute to enhancing Ukraine's energy resilience, particularly the development of decentralized generation, countering Russia's energy terror, and utilizing renewable energy sources.
