Ukraine switches to 230 volts: how the figures in electricity bills will change.

Ukraine will switch to the voltage standard of 230 volts from July 1, 2025
According to a message from DTEK, starting from July 1, Ukraine will switch to a new voltage standard in outlets – 230 volts, replacing the previous standard of 220 volts. Many citizens express concern about the possible increase in electricity costs, but experts in the energy sector reassure them, explaining that the prices for services will remain at the current level.
Experts emphasize that instantaneous voltage in the electrical network is merely pressure, not the amount of energy consumed. Optimal relay parameters are set at levels of 207 and 253 volts, taking into account allowable voltage fluctuations from 200 to 240 volts. This initiative aims to improve the stability of the power grid and ensure an optimal level of energy supply for consumers.
What to do if the voltage constantly exceeds 240 V? This is not related to the transition to 230. It is a local issue, possibly with the transformer or line in your house. Contact your operator's chatbot, describe possible connections, and we will sort it out. If the voltage in the house constantly fluctuates – less than 200 or more than 240. This is within the allowable norm. The standard allows up to 253 V. Just install a relay. The lower threshold at 207, the upper at 253. If the relay does not trip, everything is working correctly
It is important to note that the stability of voltage at the level of 230 volts is considered optimal for the efficient operation of the power grid and the use of electricity. These changes in the energy sector are aimed at creating conditions for quality and uninterrupted electricity supply in the future.
