Switzerland has introduced new sanctions against Russia and Belarus.


Ukrainian Switzerland has joined the EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus
The Swiss government press service reports that the country has decided to join the 15th package of EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus. The list of sanctions against these countries has been expanded by the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of Switzerland.
Switzerland is joining additional sanctions imposed by the EU in connection with Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Belarus. The changes will take effect on December 24.
The Swiss government is also establishing a ban on entry and transit through the country for sanctioned persons. In addition, individual financial sanctions against Belarus have been introduced due to the situation in that country.
Please note that Switzerland is providing Ukraine with a new winter aid package worth 45 million Swiss francs (48 million euros) for the restoration of energy infrastructure, repair of housing, and addressing humanitarian needs.
