The Ukrainian biathlon team has determined the roster of the team that will prepare for the next Olympic season. The A team consists of 17 athletes, including 8 women and 9 men. Two biathletes, Dmytro Pidruchnyi and Taras Lesiuk, are also part of the A team but will train separately under the guidance of Yurii Sanitra. The composition of the Ukrainian biathlon team for the preparation for the 2025/26 season: Women: Yuliia Dzhyma, Khrystyna Dmytrenko, Olena Horodna, Oleksandra Merkushyna, Anastasiia Merkushyna, Liia Steblina, Darya Chalyk, Valeriia Dmytrenko. Men: Dmytro Pidruchnyi, Taras Lesiuk, Anton Dudchenko, Artem Tyshchenko, Vitalii Mandzyn, Bohdan Borkovskyi, Serhii Suprun, Bohdan Tsymbal, Stepan Kinash. Valeriia Dmytrenko is the only member of the A team of the Ukrainian women's biathlon team who lacks experience in World Cup races. She has only participated in IBU Cup races. Iryna Petrenko did not make the A team due to health issues and will train with the B team. She will train less intensively to address health problems. Meanwhile, there are chances that Iryna Petrenko will compete in World Cup stages and the Olympics. Denys Nasyko did not make the A team of the men's Ukrainian biathlon team. Taras Lesiuk will also train separately under the guidance of Yurii Sanitra, just like Dmytro Pidruchnyi. The final season of the World Cup 2024/25 allowed Ukraine to regain its quota for the next season. The 2025/26 World Cup season will start with a stage in Östersund from November 29 to December 8. The Olympics will take place in Antholz from February 8 to 21, 2026.
