The government extends the 'eQueue' project for two years
The government has approved a resolution that provides for the extension of the experimental 'eQueue' project for two years.
According to the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development, the new phase of the project will focus on expanding the system for all types of transport, improving priority passage across the border, and automatic confirmation of some information required for carriers.
'Over the next two years, we will focus on further developing the 'eQueue' project to ensure predictability in the border crossing process for all types of transport. This applies to both commercial carriers and citizens using private transport. Everyone should have the confidence that there are no queues at the checkpoint. In addition, an important step in the project's development will be the installation of automated cameras at the entrances to the checkpoints to minimize the possibility of passage of vehicles not registered in the system,' emphasized Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
The implementation of the new stage of the experiment is a logical continuation of the previous one. In particular, within the framework of the new project, it is planned to:
- Extend the service to all types of transport crossing the border (passenger cars, trucks up to 7.5 tons);
- Integrate the system with the relevant systems to ensure priority in the queue according to the Convention on Common Transit, to companies exporting goods under the TIR system or having the status of an authorized economic operator;
- Provide automatic verification of some information during registration in the system, for example, the availability of an insurance policy ('green card').
Thus, the updated project aims to significantly expand the functionality of the 'eQueue' system and its modernization.
