Valeriy Khait, the legendary founder of the 'Club of Odesa Gentlemen', has passed away: what he will be remembered for.

He founded the theater 'Club of Odesa Gentlemen' and was the vice-president of the 'World Club of Odesans'. Valeriy Khait was 85 years old. Valeriy Khait led the KVK team of Odesa from 1966 to 1971. He also managed the champion Odesa teams in 1972 (The Odesa Institute of National Economy Team) and in 1987 (The First Team of Gentlemen ODU).
Khait was one of the organizers of Humorina - an annual festival of humor and satire that has been held in Odesa on April 1 since 1973.
Since 1997, he was the chief editor of the humorous magazine 'Fontan' in Odesa.
Valeriy Khait also initiated the fundraising for a monument to Isaac Babel in Odesa, which was unveiled on September 4, 2011. He also established the Odesa International Literary Prize named after Isaac Babel since 2017.
