The MP explained why freezing the war is beneficial only for Putin.

The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Foreign Policy and Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation, Oleksandr Merezhko, stated that freezing the war by the Russian side would not stop the aggression against Ukraine. According to him, this is just a temporary halt, which allows Russia to gather strength and modernize its army to continue the aggression with more resources. He also emphasized that reducing military aid by Ukraine's allies is playing into the hands of the aggressor, and the resolution of the conflict is possible only through further increasing support for the Ukrainian army.
According to Merezhko, the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has repeatedly violated agreements and is not a reliable partner. He asked whether there is any sense in sitting at the negotiating table with a politician who does not abide by agreements and uses negotiations for his political goals.
