Naftogaz draws attention to the hidden danger in every kitchen.

The gas supply company 'Naftogaz of Ukraine' reminded about the importance of proper installation and operation of kitchen hoods, which are a key element for ensuring a safe and comfortable environment while cooking.
The company noted that this device helps to purify the air in the kitchen from odors, steam, and combustion products, so its use must comply with a number of technical and safety requirements.
According to specialists, the hood should be installed at least 65 cm above a gas stove, and at least 60 cm above an electric one. The power of the appliance must correspond to the area of the kitchen, as an effective hood should ensure air replacement at least 10-12 times per hour.
'Connecting the hood to the ventilation duct is only possible if the duct itself is functional, clean, and not blocked,' emphasized Naftogaz. Special attention is paid to electrical safety: the hood must be grounded, which minimizes the risk of electric shock.
Besides proper installation, it is also important to follow the rules of using the device.
Naftogaz advises turning on the hood a few minutes before cooking to prevent the accumulation of odors. Regular cleaning of the filters is also mandatory - metal ones can be washed manually or in a dishwasher, while charcoal ones should be changed every 3-6 months.
No less important is regular ventilation of the kitchen for proper air circulation.
Earlier, Naftogaz named three reasons why gas debts are rising.
In this news, 'Naftogaz of Ukraine' reminds about the importance of proper installation and operation of kitchen hoods to ensure a safe and comfortable environment in the kitchen while cooking. The company recommends installing the hood at a height appropriate for the type of stove and using power that corresponds to the area of the kitchen.
Moreover, 'Naftogaz' emphasizes the necessity of proper connection of the hood to the ventilation duct, cleanliness of the filters, and requires using a grounded hood to minimize the risk of electric shock. The company also recommends turning on the hood before starting to cook and regularly cleaning the filters and ventilating the kitchen.
