Treasury chief in Poltava region declared $62 million in cash.


The head of the regional treasury in the Poltava region stated that he inherited tens of millions of dollars in cash from his parents. This information was published by the publication "Bukvy" with reference to the Unified State Register of Declarations.
According to the declaration, the head of the regional State Treasury Service Ihor Veryha and his wife declared $62 million in cash. The official stated that he received these funds as an inheritance from his parents in the form of foreign currency and bullion.
The 58-year-old civil servant previously headed the city department for citizen appeals. He receives a monthly income of approximately 45 thousand hryvnias, including pension and salary. In addition, Ihor Veryha received charitable aid from the international organization Red Rose CPS in the amount of 16 thousand hryvnias.
According to the declaration, in April 2023, Veryha inherited 5.92 million hryvnias in foreign currency and 3.55 million hryvnias in bullion from his mother, Justyna. In October of the same year, he received 56.175 million hryvnias in foreign currency and 34.5 million hryvnias in precious metals as an inheritance from his father, Orest.
The portal "Poltavshchyna" notes that Ihor Veryha's brother, local entrepreneur Lev Veryha, along with his wife Oksana, left Ukraine and went to Russia before the start of the war. Despite this, the family continues to own businesses in Poltava, including the "Zlato city" shopping center and other properties.
