In Zaporizhia, a car passenger attacked a police officer — what the court decided.


In Zaporizhia, the district court issued a ruling in the case of a defendant who attacked a police officer. This occurred during a car stop due to a traffic violation - one of the passengers became aggressive.

Details of the case
The police crew stopped a Chevrolet Aveo car in Balabyne due to a traffic violation. The driver calmly communicated with the law enforcement officers, but one of the passengers began to express himself aggressively and struck the police officer, causing minor injuries.
The injured police officer confirmed the inappropriate behavior of the passenger, who used obscene language towards the law enforcement officers. The court found him guilty of violence against a law enforcement officer and imposed a suspended sentence of one year.
The court's verdict
After examining the evidence and witness testimonies, the court decided to punish the passenger for attacking a law enforcement officer. Earlier in the city, a scheme for evading mobilization was uncovered in one of the military enlistment offices. There was also a court hearing regarding a former military man who photographed the SBU building for the Russians; he was accused of desertion and treason.
The district court in Zaporizhia issued a ruling in the case of the policeman's beating during the car stop for a traffic violation. The passenger who committed the attack was sentenced to a suspended sentence of one year. This case is not the only instance of confrontation between law enforcement officers and citizens in the region, where other scandalous cases have also been considered in court.
