Ammonia leak from a road tanker in Vinnytsia region
Anhydrous ammonia leaked from the shut-off valve of a road tanker near the village of Stavky in the Pishchanska community, Vinnytsia region. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that the situation is currently controlled and does not pose a threat to the life and health of citizens.
According to rescuers, an ammonia leak was recorded around nine in the morning. Emergency workers promptly responded to the incident and took measures to prevent the cloud from spreading. They used sprayed water jets and carried out work on transferring ammonia to an empty container.
It is gratifying that the level of air pollution in Kyiv is currently very low, and the radiation background in the city is within the normal range.
