At the beginning of the war, he was in Russian captivity twice. Let's remember Maksym Tsehel'nyk.

Every day at 9 a.m., Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Maksym Tsehel'nyk.
Defending Ukraine, on March 9, 2025, in the Kherson direction, matros of the coastal guard brigade Maksym Vitaliyovych Tsehel'nyk fell. This was reported by 'Glavcom' referring to the Kakhovka city territorial community.
Maksym Tsehel'nyk was born on August 3, 1979. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Maksym was twice a prisoner of the Russian military - he was taken captive and thrown into a basement.
'After his liberation and moving to the territory controlled by Ukraine, Maksym decided to defend his native land. He had an active life position, a thirst for justice, and thus chose to defend Ukraine, protecting our borders for a peaceful and free future for his children,' reported the Kakhovka city territorial community.
Maksym Tsehel'nyk is survived by his wife and three sons.
We honor the fallen hero
'Glavcom' joins a moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who perished in the struggle for the Motherland. We remember those who fell at the hands of Russian occupiers, light candles of memory and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, all who perished in the fight against Russian invaders and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
