A top official of the Russian Federation died in Kursk while fighting against Ukraine.


The Deputy Governor of Primorsky Krai, Sergey Efremov, who participated in the war against Ukraine in August 2024, was killed at the front. This was reported on February 2 by the region's head Oleg Kozhemyako.
Sergey Efremov, at the age of 52, was the commander of the volunteer unit 'Tiger', which was formed in the summer of 2022. He was awarded the DNR Order. According to Kozhemyako, Efremov died while returning from a combat mission.
According to Telegram channels Shot and Mash, the vehicle in which Efremov was traveling exploded on a mine in the Kursk region. Another officer also died.
Deputy Governor Efremov first went to war against Ukraine in 2022, leading the 'Tiger' unit, which was formed in Primorye based on the 155th Infantry Brigade of the Pacific Fleet Marine Corps. In February 2024, he was appointed as Deputy Governor for Internal Affairs by Oleg Kozhemyako.
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine eliminated Russian occupier Vasily Kuzmin. He was the brother of Hero of Russia Fedor Kuzmin.
Also, in the morning of October 16, a 44-year-old deputy chief of one of the military units, Colonel Nikita Klenkov, was shot dead in Podmoskovye.
