An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 occurred near Kryvyi Rih
On October 8, 2024, an earthquake of magnitude 3.3 occurred near Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine. Regional Telegram channels and social media users started reporting this in the evening. The magnitude was officially recorded by the Seismological Portal.
The tremors were recorded at 19:36 local Time, with the epicenter approximately 18 km northwest of Kryvyi Rih. The earthquake focus was at a depth of 8 km near Hleiuvatka, which is quite a shallow depth for seismic activity. Another settlement nearby is Lozuvatka.
Despite the moderate magnitude, there are currently no reports of significant damage or casualties. This region does not often encounter seismic activity, with the last significant earthquake occurring several years ago.

The earthquake source is located in the eastern part of the Black Sea, 20 kilometers southeast of the coast of the Crimean peninsula, at a depth of 6 km. Later, on the morning of October 4, residents of southern Odesa oblast felt an earthquake that occurred in Romania.
By the way, an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 occurred on Monday at 17:40 in the Vrancea county area in eastern Romania.
