The Mayor of Venice honored the soldier 'Janis' for saving a foreigner
Luigi Brugnaro, the Mayor of Venice, awarded a soldier from the reconnaissance battalion 'Janis' who saved a foreigner. This was reported by 'Glavkom', referencing the military's Instagram page.
'Today I heard words of support from the Mayor of Venice in our war with the Russian Federation. Mr. Brugnaro was in Odesa during the shelling and expressed respect for the Ukrainian defense forces for their work and dedication to the homeland. Glory to Ukraine. Honor to the Third Assault Brigade,' the soldier wrote.
We remind you that in Venice, a Ukrainian serviceman saved a foreigner from North Africa who sustained serious injuries during a fight in the historic center of the city.
The fight was caused by two men, one of whom stabbed the victim several times and fled. The injured man walked a few meters and fell. One of the passersby helped him, providing medical assistance, while others called the police and an ambulance.
