IAEA reported gunfire at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

Gunfire occurred at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, reported the head of the IAEA. Experts were ordered to remain indoors after shots were fired near the main administrative building. The occupiers stated that the group's actions were postponed due to threats from drones. The IAEA group was in the building after the shelter order was issued across the entire station area. Over the past week, they felt explosions and gunfire from a distance from the station. The head of the IAEA noted that this is a dangerous situation for nuclear safety. The organization is dedicated to preventing nuclear accidents during conflicts. We also remind that the rotation of IAEA observers was carried out without coordination with Ukraine. Ukraine sent a protest letter to the IAEA leadership condemning the violations of sovereignty and territorial integrity and warning about similar actions in the future. Rafael Grossi stated that the rotation was conducted to protect IAEA staff across occupied territories.
