Nordic countries will check insurance for Russia's shadow fleet vessels.

Nordic countries against Russia's shadow fleet
Twelve Nordic countries have agreed on measures aimed at combating Russia's shadow fleet, which is evading sanctions on petroleum products.
According to Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Mihal, Russia's shadow fleet poses a threat to the security, economy, and environment of European countries. Therefore, it has been decided to take decisive action against this fleet.
'Russia is using its shadow fleet to evade sanctions and diminish their impact. Twelve countries have agreed to restrain Russia's shadow fleet to prevent illegal operations and increase Russia's costs for military aggression against Ukraine.'
Under the plan, six countries - the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Poland, Finland, and Estonia - will require insurance documents from suspicious vessels passing through the English Channel, Danish Straits, and the Gulf of Finland. Information about these vessels and refusals to provide information will be analyzed for further decision-making. Vessels will not be stopped but will be required to provide information.
This decision has also been supported by Germany, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, and Norway, but their participation in checks has not been reported.
