China aims to join the club of major nuclear powers - expert analysis.

US President Joe Biden stated that the United States is ready for negotiations with Russia, China, and North Korea to reduce the nuclear threat. China has long sought to be one of the largest nuclear powers, and these negotiations are one of its goals.
This was reported by sinologist, political scientist, and orientalist from the University of Leipzig in Germany, Oleksiy Chyhadaiev, in an interview with the TV channel FREEДОМ.
"Indeed, this is China's main goal, which is why they have been increasing their nuclear potential over the past few years. Possessing nuclear missiles allows entry into the club of nuclear powers. China is one of such powers, but it ensures that it increases its share in the global nuclear potential. This is also important for Chinese diplomacy, as it allows for discussions with the US on equal terms. They want to show that they have a significant number of missiles, which grows every year. This may create some nervousness, so it is likely that the US will have negotiations with China, but it will already be with the next president," Chyhadaiev said.
He added that China's nuclear potential buildup also opens a new channel of communication with the US.
"For Chinese diplomacy, this is another argument for conducting equal negotiations with the United States. Possessing a significant number of missiles and nuclear weapons creates a concern that cannot be ignored. It is likely that the US will have negotiations with China, but this will already be under the leadership of the next president," concluded Chyhadaiev.
