Criminals hack users' messenger accounts and send victims' contacts messages with phishing links about allegedly receiving financial aid from the state or international organizations. In this way, as law enforcement officers note, attackers obtain the banking data of the victims. Therefore, it is extremely important to ignore such messages.Because, when a user clicks on such a link, they are asked to enter access data for online banking or information about the bank card (number, expiration date, and CVV code). After obtaining this data, the attackers gain access to their bank account, from which they withdraw all available funds, including credit limits, to controlled accounts.Law enforcement officers urge trusting only official sources of information and ignoring dubious messages from unverified accounts.
Recall, at the beginning of the year, Russian spies leaked recordings of German Air Force officers during an online meeting held on the commercial unencrypted platform WebEx. The meeting was dedicated to how Germany could organize the delivery and operation of long-range cruise missiles Taurus if they are sent to Ukraine. Officials on the recording also stated that Britain, France, and the United States maintain military personnel in Ukraine to help operate modern Western weapon systems, which these countries denied.
By the way, hackers from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (GUR) in the last four days attacked more than 800 servers in Russia. As a result of the GUR attack, documents and data stored on the affected servers were completely destroyed. We are talking about military, administrative, and financial institution servers that support Russian aggression against Ukraine.
Also, in July, Ukrainian hackers conducted a massive cyberattack on the Bank of Russia and other financial institutions of the Russian Federation. The central bank's resources were operating intermittently. Banks "Zenit", Gazprombank, and internet providers were also attacked.
