Elon Musk goes to war against companies that have refused advertising on X.

Company X is suing a group of major advertisers, accusing them of an illegal boycott of the platform. This was reported by Elon Musk and X Corp CEO Linda Yaccarino.

The lawsuit was filed against The Global Alliance for Responsible Media, the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), and several major companies, including Unilever, Mars, Orsted, and CVS Health. According to Yaccarino, the 'illegal behavior' of these organizations and their executives cost X 'billions of dollars'.

In particular, Yaccarino refers to a report from the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee in the US. It states that GARM and its members 'conspired' to boycott X after Musk acquired the platform. Consequently, the committee found that the participants in the 'conspiracy' restricted consumer choice, violating antitrust laws.

X Corp's CEO claims that not only the social network suffered from the 'illegal boycott', but also its users. 'People suffer when the marketplace of ideas is undermined, and certain viewpoints are not funded as compared to others, within an illegal boycott,' the letter said.

Instead, Musk stated that after all the efforts made, it was Time for 'war'. 'We tried peace for two years, now it's war,' Musk wrote.

The billionaire also called on other companies that are 'consistently boycotted by advertisers' to file a lawsuit.

GARM co-founder Rob Rakowitz denies the allegations. He and other initiative members insist that brands have the right to decide where to place their advertising.

The British government calls on Musk to behave responsibly

after the billionaire published posts on his social network X that, according to British officials, could further exacerbate violent unrest in the country.
