The White House ordered Musk to find out how a journalist ended up in a secret chat.

The Department of Efficiency led by Elon Musk, which works for the White House, has been tasked with investigating how The Atlantic's editor joined a secret chat of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration. This was reported by ABC News. A representative of the White House, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that the department will determine how the editor ended up in the chat and what was discussed there. They will also be looking for ways to make communication within the government safer and more effective.
Recall that the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg, was accidentally added to the secret chat of the Trump administration, where strikes against the Houthis in Yemen were planned. He wrote about it in his article. The discussion of plans in a regular chat, rather than secure communication channels, caused a serious scandal and backlash from politicians in the U.S.
An investigation into this incident is currently required as it is considered a serious security breach. It is possible that the U.S. National Security Advisor and the head of the Pentagon may be forced to resign due to this scandal involving leaks about strikes in Yemen.
