The Solar Energy Association of Ukraine urges the development of mechanisms for repaying debts to renewable energy producers
The Director of the Solar Energy Association of Ukraine, Oleksandr Kisyliov, stated that effective ways to repay debts to renewable energy producers need to be created.
He emphasized that the issue of debt is important, regardless of the rapid development of the industry. Kisyliov noted that the volume of solar module imports has significantly increased, indicating the popularity of this type of energy.
«Last year, 170 MW of solar modules were imported. In the first 9 months of this year, the figure is about 900 MW», - stated Kisyliov.
The Director of the Association stressed the need to address the debt issue and hopes that appropriate mechanisms will be developed.
«We are especially paying attention to the structure of debt and possible mechanisms for its repayment. This issue is already being considered, and we hope that such mechanisms will be provided», - Kisyliov emphasized.
Kisyliov also noted the necessity of timely adjustment of electricity transmission tariffs to avoid the accumulation of new debts. The debt of NEC «Ukrenergo» to the state enterprise «Guaranteed Buyer» for the compensation of services related to increasing electricity production from alternative energy sources («green» tariff) has exceeded 30 billion hryvnias.
