How the Kursk operation changed the situation in the Sumy region: response of the OVA.

Ukrainian military conducted an offensive operation in the Kursk region
The number of shelling of border areas of the Sumy region has increased after Ukrainian troops entered the Kursk region. This was stated by the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Volodymyr Artyukh, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the number of shelling from the Russian side has increased precisely in those areas where the Ukrainian troops entered the territory of the Kursk region.
Where our troops entered the territory of the Kursk region, the number of shelling has increased. The number of artillery systems, machine guns, and small arms has decreased because the enemy has been pushed back 20-30 km from the border, Artyukh said.
Emphasizing that the number of airstrikes has significantly increased, Artyukh noted that 30-40 launches of guided bombs are carried out per day.
If previously these were random occurrences, now it is happening systematically. We are recording strikes on critical infrastructure facilities and also on populated areas – houses and apartment buildings, the head of the OVA replied.
According to him, the goal of such shelling is to demoralize the population and make them leave their native lands.
And to create conditions under which it would be difficult for the population to stay here, destroying life-support systems – energy systems, water supply, mobile communication, he emphasized.
We remind that on November 8, the occupiers struck a dormitory of an educational institution in the city of Hlukhiv in the Sumy region. As of November 19, there are 12 dead. Commenting on this case, President Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine calls on the world daily for determination and strength to prevent Russian attacks on the Ukrainian people.
