The head of the UN commission condemned Trump's intention to evict Palestinians from Gaza
The head of the UN commission investigating the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, Navi Pillay, emphasized that the intentions of the US president to evict Palestinians from the Gaza Strip contradict international law and could be regarded as ethnic cleansing. She noted that there is no legal way to implement such a threat.
According to Pillay, President Trump is disengaging from international law and the laws of occupation. Eviction of an occupied group is an international crime and equates to ethnic cleansing. She also expressed her criticism of the sanctions against the ICC that Trump imposed in connection with war crimes in Gaza.
The UN commission led by Pillay previously accused Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity due to the destruction of the healthcare system in the Gaza Strip.
It is worth noting that Israel withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council due to 'discrimination' and 'anti-Semitism'.
